| Yu Suzuki No Longer at SEGA? |
| Written by Mattis Bødtker | |

In an interview for Gamasutra, Sega of America president Simon Jeffery tells that famous game developer Yu suzuki is no longer a part of the Sega Family.
According to Jeffery "Last I heard, he was doing some online stuff in China" going on to saying that he is "kind of his own man right now." Speculations on Suzuki-sans role in SEGA have been hazy at best in the lat couple of years. His recent work was on the arcade title Psy Phi and the MMO title, Shenmue Online. None of them made it thought to final production. Many may be fast to say "that was the final straw", but if I may add my two cent to this. SEGA of America boss, Simon, has little-to-no involvement of what happens in SEGA of Japan and the development aspect for their titles, other then the ones that are being overseen in the US. He goes on to mention that the last thing he heard was that he was in Chine doing online stuff - This was years ago when Shenmue Online was being made - during the time afterwards Suzuki-san opened Digital Rex Development Studios. Hence being his own man. True, he might not be as involved as before, but I don't see these words from Simon as being the final words on the matter. i agree, this does not mean no shenmue 3 if we can just spread the word more, u never know some company might just open there eyes and see the potential find Yu and we get shenmue 3 of course its not just easy as that as its still a sega product but they can always sell
No wonder

I guess Sega has a talent to not listen to fans voices neither to realize some good game concepts.
I also heard of the rumor today and i think its the best for Yu. So far this does not mean a Shenmue 3 for us but after some time in a new company he may want to finish his Shenmue Dynastie and developes it working at a new company....however Yu is an artist without much attention gotten by Sega... We need to know more about this. Is he still working for Sega or not?
You'd think that him leaving Sega would be big news. I'm hitting my "WTF?!!!" button on this one. Write comment
